A hyperactive weather pattern keeps us on our toes. If you don’t like the weather just wait 24 hours and it will change. After some morning showers, we gradually clear out with a very warm afternoon. Tomorrow almost qualifies for a Nice Day status with a brilliant morning and midday before clouds return, but we need to be wary of a very stormy Thursday with a cooler Friday-Saturday before a potentially nice Sunday.

Today (Tuesday): Showers continue through the early rush hour but should just be widely scattered by mid-morning. Look for clearing skies by late morning and midday. Temperatures start the day in the low 60s (maybe some upper 50s), reach 70 with sunshine by Noon and then gallop to the middle to upper 70s by 3 or 4 p.m. Winds blow from the south and then southwest at 10 to 15 mph with higher gusts at times.  Confidence: Medium

Tonight: Partly cloudy and on the cool side of comfortable with lows from around 50 to 55 or so.  Light winds from the west at 10 to 15 mph.  Confidence: Medium-high

Tomorrow (Wednesday): This is the good stuff. Mostly sunny skies with springtime warmth ranging from the upper 60s to low 70s. The best part — winds are very light and humidity is low. The only downside is that clouds start to return over the course of the afternoon. If not for the afternoon cloud return, it be an official Nice Day. Confidence: High

Tomorrow night: Showers and thunderstorms get going and they could be heavy toward dawn. Lows in the middle to upper 50s.  Confidence: Medium

Thursday is unpleasant with periods of rain and potentially heavy thunderstorms. As of this moment, the heaviest precipitation looks to pass through around midday. Temperatures peak in the middle to upper 60s around midday before the rain cools things off. In fact, temperatures are forecast to slide down through the lower 60s and then 50s over the course of the afternoon as gusty winds pick up and continue into the night. Mostly cloudy conditions Thursday night with scattered showers and windy weather. Lows range through the cooler 40s with wind chills into the 30s. Confidence: Medium

Clouds continue into a cool, breezy Friday with highs only in the 50s and a slight chance of showers. Friday night starts to clear out a bit and temperatures dip a bit further into the upper 30s in the outer suburbs to the lower to middle 40s in the city.  Confidence: Medium

Saturday finally sends back some sunshine, but we’re stuck in a cooler air mass for one more day as highs only manage the middle 50s to around 60. Saturday night looks clear and cool with lows ranging from the middle 30s to the middle 40s.  Sunday sets up our best day of the weekend with mostly sunny skies and highs in the 60s. Confidence: Medium
