FORECAST IN DETAIL

A sunny summer preview peaks today with temperatures 15 to 20 degrees above normal. Clouds and a few showers sneak into the picture tonight into tomorrow morning, but sunshine returns tomorrow afternoon and the rest of the workweek is pretty springlike. The weekend is tricky, with a chance of showers or thunderstorms, especially Sunday.

Today (Tuesday):  A warmer repeat of Monday with sunny skies and highs up into the lower to middle 80s. Humidity is just a touch higher than yesterday — while low compared with summer levels, you may feel it just a bit. Very light breezes from the south prevent an overdose of pollen, but it’ll be floating around nonetheless. Confidence: High

Tomorrow (Wednesday): Scattered showers in the morning into midday as a cool front attempts to work through. There isn’t much moisture here, so we’re not expecting a whole lot of rain this time around. Clouds start to clear in the afternoon, and we end up with a reasonably nice high-temperature range through the 70s. Winds pick up a bit from the west at 10 to 15 mph with a few higher gusts possible. Confidence: Medium

Tomorrow night: Mostly clear and cooler, with lows ranging from the middle 40s in the suburbs to around 50 in the city. Light breezes from the north at around 5 mph. Confidence: Medium-high

A LOOK AHEAD

Thursday and Friday both offer partly to mostly sunny skies, with afternoon temperatures topping out in the 60s to around 70. This is fairly nice spring weather with just a few clouds around Thursday and Friday nights as the lows drop into the cool 40s to around 50 again. Confidence: Medium-high

The weekend gets a touch more complicated as a weather system approaches later Saturday into especially Sunday. Saturday may be partly cloudy, with highs in the middle to upper 60s and some scattered afternoon and evening showers. Saturday night looks mostly cloudy, with a few scattered showers possible too as lows drift down only into the 50s. Easter Sunday aims warmer with middle 70s to around 80; however, clouds with scattered showers and storms need to be monitored. Details should firm up as we get closer to the weekend.  Confidence: Low-medium
