FORECAST IN DETAIL
Our supersaturated situation stays intact today. Even light rain or drizzle persists into tomorrow morning before we finally start drying during the day tomorrow. We then rocket to the very warm 80s by Thursday and stay quite warm right into the final weekend of April. A few spots could even touch 90 degrees this weekend.
Today (Tuesday): Periods of rain, which could be moderate at times. Temperatures don’t move much as highs creep into the upper 50s to low 60s under heavy dense overcast skies. Cool, wet breezes blow from the east and northeast at 10 to 15 mph with some higher gusts at times. Rainfall totals today could range from a quarter to half inch, but locally heavier amounts can happen, especially east and north of the city. Confidence: Medium-high
Tonight: Light rain and drizzle continue under cloudy skies. Additional light rainfall accumulations may measure up to .05 or .1 inches. Light winds blow at about 5 mph from the north. Confidence: Medium-high
Tomorrow (Wednesday): A gloomy morning greets us with lingering drizzle, especially east and north of the city as the big low pressure area pulls away finally. Clouds are tough to eradicate, but we could see breaks of sunshine by especially middle to late afternoon, which allows temperatures to advance into the lower to middle 70s finally. Confidence: Medium-high
Tomorrow night: Partly cloudy and fairly mild as temperatures only drift down to the upper 50s to middle 60s. Winds rotate to come from the southwest at fairly light levels again. Confidence: Medium-high
A LOOK AHEAD
Thursday and Friday flip us around to a much warmer pattern situation. Partly to mostly sunny skies prevail along with temperatures advancing into the lower to middle 80s both days. Dew points range in the upper 50s to around 60, which is not super-humid, but thanks to all the recent rain, it’ll be a bit noticeable. Thursday and Friday night feature partly cloudy skies and lows in the 60s. Confidence: Medium
The weekend looks quite warm with the headline being highs in the middle to upper 80s both days with Sunday seeing a shot at 90F in some spots. Partly sunny skies are featured most of the time, but both Saturday and Sunday run the chance of an afternoon or evening shower or thunderstorm. While humidity doesn’t hit summer levels, it should be a bit higher vs. Thursday and Friday, triggering more air conditioning needs as April draws to a close. Confidence: Medium
