A somewhat subjective rating of the day’s weather, on a scale of 0 to 10.

7/10: A brisk breeze detracts just a bit from otherwise delightful sun and 60s.

Today: Mostly sunny, breezy. Highs: Mid- to upper 60s.
Tonight: Diminishing winds. Lows: Mid-40s to low 50s.
Tomorrow: Increasing clouds, shower chance late. Highs: Mid- to upper 60s.

To the joy of some and dismay of others, that summer feeling is gone for a while. Cooler and breezy conditions prevail today with plenty of sun. But clouds increase Thursday with a healthy dose of rain likely tomorrow night into Friday, and lingering showers possible into the weekend.

Today (Wednesday): Mostly sunny skies help morning temperatures through the 50s, and to near or past 60 by lunchtime. But countering the warm sun is a brisk breeze from the northwest, at 15-20 mph with some higher gusts. Afternoon highs top out on the cooler side of normal, in the mid- to upper 60s. Confidence: Medium-High

Tonight: It’s a quiet but cool night as skies turn partly cloudy and winds diminish. Temperatures drop back into the 50s by mid- to late evening, with overnight lows in the mid-40s to low 50s. Confidence: High

Tomorrow (Thursday): Partly sunny morning skies turn mostly cloudy during the afternoon. But we should stay dry through most of the day, with just a chance of showers toward evening. Highs reach the mid- to upper 60s with a 10-15 mph breeze from the southeast. Confidence: Medium

Tomorrow night: Rain chances increase during the evening, with rain likely overnight, and it could be moderate to heavy at times. Breezy winds from the southeast keep temperatures on the mild side, with lows in the mid-50s to near 60. Confidence: Medium

The rain, potentially moderate to heavy at times, looks to continue through at least Friday morning, and perhaps into the afternoon before tapering. Winds continue breezy from the southeast as highs head for the upper 60s to mid-70s. Can’t rule out a lingering shower or two Friday night, with lows in the 50s. Confidence: Low-Medium

I wouldn’t call the weekend a washout, at least not as of now. But scattered light showers are possible both days, especially Saturday, as the storm system stalls and spins over the Northeast. We’ll call both days partly to mostly cloudy, with cool highs in the upper 50s to mid-60s. Confidence: Low-Medium
