FORECAST IN DETAIL

This is fantastic late-spring weather, but it’s not going to last. We climb into July-like conditions for the next three days — highs in the 90s, humidity more than noticeable. The first opportunity to break the heat comes with scattered showers and storms Friday afternoon into the weekend. Still, highs look like they’ll be in the 70s to around 80 Saturday and Sunday.

Today (Tuesday): Perfecto! Sunny skies dominate and temperatures move toward the 80-degree mark this afternoon. Very light breezes should be mostly from the southwest by afternoon. Humidity is low today, which we should appreciate in contrast to the days ahead. Confidence: High

Tonight: Clear and comfortable with lows in the upper 50s to middle 60s. Light winds from the south up to about 5 mph. Confidence: High

Tomorrow (Wednesday): A muggy and hotter air mass envelops our Wednesday as highs soar through the upper 80s to low 90s under mostly sunny skies. Humidity increases as well with dew points up into the middle 60s (moderate discomfort levels). Stay hydrated with any extensive outdoor activities — it has been a while at these levels. Confidence: High

Tomorrow night: Mostly clear, warm and even muggy with lows ranging from the middle 60s to the lower 70s right in the city. Confidence: High

A LOOK AHEAD

Thursday should be our hottest day of the week with highs in the lower to even middle 90s under mostly sunny skies and moderate to potentially high humidity levels (all that rain and elevated soil moisture from last week is coming back to haunt us). Thursday night remains warm/muggy with lows in the middle 60s to low 70s. Confidence: High

Friday continues muggy and hot conditions, but more clouds limit it a bit, as well as a chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Highs range from the upper 80s to low 90s with continued moderate to marginally high humidity. Friday night could experience a few scattered showers or storms in the evening with warm lows in the middle 60s to low 70s. Confidence: Medium

The weekend is favored to stay muggy with highs in the 70s to around 80 with a range of cloud cover from partly sunny to mostly cloudy at times. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are in the area both days, but bigger coverage may focus on Sunday. Saturday night runs partly cloudy with lows in the 60s as humidity remains at least moderate through the weekend. Confidence: Low-Medium
