FORECAST IN DETAIL
Our first day of summer is a warm one, but with just a touch of humidity, and perhaps a passing afternoon or evening thundershower. We’ll turn hotter and more humid tomorrow. And then the forecast gets more complicated Friday into the weekend, as a cold front potentially interacts with the remnants of Tropical Storm Cindy.
Today (Wednesday): The humidity increases just a bit compared with yesterday. But it’s still fairly comfortable out there, with partly sunny skies and the chance of a passing afternoon shower or thundershower. Highs should reach the upper 80s to near 90, with a light wind from the west around 5-10 mph. Confidence: Medium-High
Tonight: Still that chance of a passing evening shower or thundershower. Meanwhile the mugginess factor is on the rise again overnight, with lows settling in the upper 60s to low 70s. Confidence: Medium-High
Tomorrow (Thursday): Our humidity climbs solidly into the moderate range, with highs heading for the low 90s under partly sunny skies. Winds remain light from the southwest. Confidence: High
Tomorrow night: Increasing clouds and rising humidity make for a muggy night. Lows range from near 70 to the mid-70s with a light wind from the south. Confidence: High
A LOOK AHEAD
Friday and Saturday both run the risk of some showers and thunderstorms, as a nearby cold front could combine with lingering moisture from what is currently Tropical Storm Cindy in the Gulf of Mexico. Both days should see highs in the mid-80s to near 90. Confidence: Low-Medium
The front tries to make its way south and east of our area by Sunday, which would allow drier air to move in. But forecast confidence is low this far out, especially with the uncertain interaction between the front and the remnants of Cindy, so a continued chance of showers and storms can’t be ruled out. Sunday highs should top out in the 80s. Confidence: Low
