We’re putting a string of nice weekends together here. And I, for one, am fine with that! We’ll enjoy one more day of sunshine and mild temperatures today, before we begin to turn more unsettled. Blame an area of low pressure moving up the East Coast for our stretch of cloudy and potentially showery days through midweek.

Today (Sunday): High pressure remains nosed in from the north, as low pressure developing off the Southeast coast is held at bay. Other than some high clouds in the afternoon, we’re looking at another winner! Mostly sunny skies, comfortable humidity and a light wind from the east are all in store as our highs top out near 80. Confidence: High

Tonight: Onshore flow slowly raises our moisture levels and we should see skies turn partly to mostly cloudy. Areas mainly south and east of the District may even deal with a few light sprinkles/mist overnight, as lows drop to the low-to-mid 60s. Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow (Monday): Low pressure off the Carolina coast sends mostly cloudy skies our way and the chance of an occasional light shower. The clouds, and a persistent onshore breeze from the south, should help limit highs to the 70s. Confidence: Medium

Tomorrow night: Similar conditions persist during the evening and overnight, with a continued chance of an occasional light shower. With mostly cloudy skies and a steady breeze from the east, lows settle in the 60s. Confidence: Medium

The coastal storm gets closer on Tuesday, increasing our chances for scattered showers, with perhaps periods of steadier rain depending on the track and strength of the storm. Winds pick up some as well, as highs stall in the 70s again under mostly cloudy skies. Confidence: Low-Medium

Wednesday may still see a fair amount of clouds, and a few lingering showers remain possible. But somewhat brighter skies should help bump highs to the mid-70s to near 80. Confidence: Low-Medium
