Most days this week are nice ones, even if they turn a little toasty Wednesday and Thursday, when temperatures should be back up near 80 or higher. For a fourth straight week, we’ll have little rain — although some spotty showers become a possibility Friday and into the weekend. Generally, though, sunglasses get a workout, while umbrellas languish.

Today (Monday): It starts off chilly, with many locations in the 40s, but we can shed the jackets by the afternoon as most of us reach at least the low 70s and a few spots get up around 75. Light winds. Confidence: High

Tonight: Temperatures quickly drop off, especially in our cooler areas. Under clear skies, lows range from the mid-40s in those cooler spots to the low-to-mid 50s downtown. Confidence: High

Tomorrow (Tuesday): Take today and set it to repeat, maybe tacking a couple of degrees onto afternoon highs. Under mostly sunny skies, highs reach the low-to-mid 70s. Confidence: High

Tomorrow night: It’s not quite as chilly as the previous few nights. But clear skies and light winds should still allow our cooler areas to fall into the upper 40s, with mid-to-upper 50s downtown. Confidence: High

Wednesday starts off quite refreshing (most locations in the 50s), but the strong high pressure overhead should help push temperatures up to around 80 degrees during the afternoon. It’s not as cool Wednesday night, with lows 55-65 (cooler suburbs-city). Confidence: Medium-High

Thursday should be the week’s warmest day as sun-filled skies boost afternoon highs into the low-to-mid 80s, and maybe even the upper 80s around the city. Thursday night is quite mild, with lows mostly ranging through the 60s. Confidence: Medium-High

Friday brings the week’s best chance of a shower or two, mainly at night, as a front tries to slip into the region. But it’s warm prior to that, with highs near 80. The shower chance at night is just 30 percent, with lows in the 60s. Confidence: Medium

Friday’s front may lift back to the north over the weekend, allowing it to remain rather mild. But it could also linger close enough for a small chance of showers to persist. Generally, though, the weekend should be more dry than not, with highs in the 70s to near 80 and lows in the 50s and 60s. Confidence: Low-Medium
