FORECAST IN DETAIL
Welcome to the cold season. The growing season has officially come to an end across the area, and it’ll take some time to thaw out the ground today. In some shaded spots, it might not even get there! Temperatures more typical of midwinter stick with us into tonight. After that, we start to mild it back up a bit.

Today (Saturday): It may not feel like Nov. 11, but it could be worse. I’m going to cup half full this one. Colors are near peak, and winds are a whole lot lighter than yesterday. It’s also quite sunny. Okay, temperatures in the near 40 to mid-40s range are a little unpleasant at this time of year. Consider it practice? Confidence: Medium-High
Tonight: Although temperatures didn’t exactly soar during the day, they’ll plummet nicely going through the evening, after sunset. It’s the type of night where a great majority of the temperature loss comes early. Another hard freeze for most, with lows ranging from just above 20 in the coldest spots north and west to the near-freezing mark in the city. Confidence: Medium-High
Tomorrow (Sunday): This is probably the pick of the weekend for most, simply because temperatures are not quite as biting. It is another cold start if you’re out early, and that’s when sunshine is most abundant. Clouds should tend to increase with time, and we might need to introduce a chance of showers by evening. Highs rise to near and just above 50. Confidence: Medium-High
Tomorrow night: Clouds are more numerous by Sunday evening and into the night. A few showers are possible. For now, it doesn’t seem like anything of much consequence. It’s not impossible a sleet pellet or snowflake mixes in north and west with any showers. It’s conversational if so. Lows are mostly in the mid-30s to near 40. Confidence: Medium
A LOOK AHEAD
The disturbed area of weather that arrives Sunday night lasts into Monday. For now, it mostly seems like some increased cloudiness. A couple light showers are possible, as well. Highs range from near 50 to the mid-50s. Confidence: Medium
Coming off seasonable low temperatures near freezing to around the low 40s, Tuesday brings more sunshine to the area. Along with increased sun, temperatures are up a bit, as well. We’re tickling normal, with highs in the mid-to-upper 50s. Confidence: Medium
