After another chilly start this morning, I wish I could say this afternoon’s 60s are a sign we’ve turned the corner. But tomorrow we struggle to get back to 60 with gusty winds, while Friday highs look to stall solidly in the 50s. The weekend features plenty of sun, with cool mornings and somewhat mild afternoons.

Today (Wednesday): We find ourselves between low-pressure systems, with one moving away well to our northeast, and another slowly approaching from the Midwest. That leaves us mostly sunny through early afternoon, with some increasing clouds possible mid- to late afternoon. Temperatures climb out of the 30s this morning and max out in the low to mid-60s this afternoon, with light winds from the west-southwest. Confidence: High

Tonight: Skies turn mostly cloudy during the evening into the overnight, with a few light showers or sprinkles possible as low pressure tracks overhead. The clouds help keep temperatures up, with lows only down to the upper 40s to low 50s. Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow (Thursday): Can’t rule out a few morning showers as low pressure lingers just to our north and northeast. Otherwise, we’re looking at a partly cloudy and windy day, with gusts from the west increasing to near 40 mph by late morning and through the afternoon. Highs reach only the mid-50s to near 60. Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow night: Winds should become less gusty, but we still hang on to a steady breeze from the northwest. That helps send temperatures spiraling down into the 30s again with clearing skies. Confidence: Medium-High

We’ve got plenty of sun Friday with partly to mostly sunny skies but also a gusty breeze from the northwest. So the wind will make highs only in the mid-50s feel even colder. Winds diminish Friday night with lows back down into the 30s. Confidence: Medium-High

At the moment, it seems likely that high pressure will keep us dry through the weekend. Just a small chance right now that the high weakens enough to allow a chance of showers late Sunday. Morning lows both days should start in the mid-30s to low 40s. Afternoon highs should reach the upper 50s to low 60s Saturday and into the 60s on Sunday, with partly to mostly sunny skies. Confidence: Medium
