In search of a spark with his team back in the cellar of the NHL’s Eastern Conference standings, Capitals Coach Adam Oates decided to adjust his lines again at Monday’s practice.

The Capitals’ top line of Woltek Wolski, Mike Ribeiro and Alex Ovechkin remained intact, but the rest of the lineup has been altered. Most notably, Jason Chimera has been bumped up to the second line along with Nicklas Backstrom and Troy Brouwer. It also appears that Joey Crabb is now centering the third line with Marcus Johansson and Joel Ward.

Here’s what the complete lines look like:

Injured defenseman Jack Hillen was the only Washington player to skate alone before practice. Forward Brooks Laich (groin) was not seen on the ice.

We’ll have more after practice ends here at Kettler Capitals Iceplex.
