Philipp Grubauer (5-1-2, 2.02 goals-against average, .937 save percentage) gets the nod once again as Coach Adam Oates opts to stick with the 22-year-old rookie, who faced only 17 shots from the Sabres Sunday night in Buffalo. This will be Grubauer’s fourth consecutive start and eighth start in the past 11 games. He’ll be opposed by Craig Anderson (11-9-4, 3.26 goals-against average, .901 save percentage) who won both of his last two starts stopping 56 of the 59 shots he faced in those games combined.

Brooks Laich will sit out once again with a lingering groin injury. Monday will mark the 14th game he’s missed of the last 15 contests but Laich said Monday morning he hopes to be ready to play Jan. 2 when the Capitals host Carolina.

Ottawa will be without two of their stalwarts as captain Jason Spezza (lower body) and defenseman Chris Phillips (injured left foot) will both miss Monday’s contest.
