Alex Ovechkin will miss Tuesday’s game against the Senators with what the team will only describe as a lower body injury, marking the third game the star right wing has missed this season because of injury. Ovechkin, the league’s leading goal-scorer, has accounted for 26.1 percent of Washington’s goals this season. The Capitals are 13-8-2 without Ovechkin in the lineup since he entered the league.

Braden Holtby (13-11-2, 3.04 goals-against average, .911 save percentage) will make his first start since Jan. 4 and looks to begin rebuilding his confidence. His counterpart for Ottawa will be Craig Anderson (15-10-6, 3.19 goals-against average, .902 save percentage), who made 34 saves in a 3-1 win over the Capitals on Dec. 30.
