SUNRISE, Fla. — An update after warmups as Marcus Johansson, who only rejoined the team in North America late Wednesday night after arriving from Sweden, is a late scratch for the Capitals. That means that Nicolas Deschamps, 24, will make his NHL debut tonight against the Panthers.

Braden Holtby (17-13-2, 2.88 goals-against average, .912 save percentage) gets the nod as the Capitals restart their season with a matchup against the Panthers. Tim Thomas (15-18-3, 2.80 goals-against average, .910 save percentage) will start for Florida.
