UNIONDALE, N.Y. — Braden Holtby (20-15-3, 2.99 goals-against average, .910 save percentage) gets the nod against the Islanders and will be opposed by Evgeni Nabokov (14-14-7, 2.82 goals-against average, .904 save percentage). New York’s veteran netminder has a long history of success against the Capitals in his career going 13-2-3 with a .923 save percentage and 2.19 goals-against average in 18 appearances against them.
There will be one lineup change up front from what the Capitals used in New Jersey on Friday. Dustin Penner will miss Saturday’s game with an undisclosed upper-body injury according to the team. The veteran left wing, who was acquired on March 4 from Anaheim, sat out Tuesday’s game against Dallas with what the team described as an illness.
Aaron Volpatti, who has been out with an injured left shoulder was activated from long-term injured reserve and will appear in a game for the first time since Feb. 2.
