Open thread: Capitals at Blues

ST. LOUIS — Jaroslav Halak isn’t “100 percent comfortable” facing his former team so the Capitals will start Braden Holtby (21-15-3, 2.99 goals-against average, .911 save percentage) against the Blues. It will mark Holtby’s first set of consecutive starts since March 5-6 and it couldn’t come at a more important time for Washington. The Capitals could be mathematically eliminated from the playoff equation Tuesday night if they suffer a regulation loss to the Blues, Columbus earns a win of any kind over Phoenix and Detroit obtains at least a point against Buffalo.
