IT IS called a longtime “open secret” in Hollywood, yet it took the exposés by the New Yorker and the New York Times over the past week to push the scandal and its attendant dialogue fully into the open.

Miramax and Weinstein Co. founder Harvey Weinstein, for decades one of Hollywood’s most powerful moguls, faces allegations of sexual harassment and assault from more than a dozen women. He has been fired and widely denounced, but his case is roiling the industry for all it represents, as well.
