Newt Gingrich compares Bill Clinton to RGIII

(Ricky Carioti/The Washington Post)

“Bill Clinton is the best political performer of our generation,” Newt Gingrich said on Fox News’ “On the Record” program Monday evening. No issues yet.

“And something clicks in and takes over when he gets on the field,” Gingrich continued. “He’s like a great quarterback. Like watching Robert Griffin III run for 76 yards for a touchdown.”

“That was good,” Greta Van Susteren agreed.

“That was a great moment in Redskin history,” Gingrich continued, “and in fact, in NFL history.”

Then presumably they went back to talking about Bill Clinton.
