Vikings defender to coach during Redskins game: ‘I’m lost right now’

Every week, NFL Films breaks down crucial moments in some of the past Sunday’s games in a feature called “Turning Point.” Obviously, this week’s episode includes highlights from Robert Griffin III’s latest performance, because it would be silly if it didn’t.

They’ve released a clip in advance of tonight’s airing (see it here), and a special moment comes in at the 2:50 mark, when an unidentified Vikings defender seems very confused.

“I don’t know. I mean, I’m lost right now,” he tells his coach. “Especially on the pass.”

That moment is immediately followed by a clearly frustrated Jared Allen, who just can’t understand why he’s getting beat.

The breakdown of the magnificent touchdown begins at the 5:10 mark of the clip, and the sideline footage catches RGIII explaining what happened.

“They hit it wrong. If they had hit it right, they would have probably got me, unless I threw hot,” he says in the clip. “But they hit it wrong and I saw a hole, and I was like…”

They also feature a clip from the quarterback’s postgame presser, which pairs nicely with Josh Wilson’s play-by-play from yesterday.

“I saw that they missed it and took off running. Got to the sidelines and thought about running out of bounds, because everyone’s been telling me that lately,” Griffin said. “I can see guys telling me I got the first, so they were saying, ‘Stay in bounds. Slide.’ That went from ‘Stop. Stay in bounds,’ to ‘Go.’

The whole episode airs today at 4 p.m. on NBC Sports Network.
