Morning Pixels: Justin Tuck would take RGIII over Vick, Newton

My pals over at the Insider collected a few snippets of the Giants’ defensive stars gushing over Robert Griffin III Sunday evening, but the enthusiasm kept going.

Justin Tuck, in particular, seemed almost in awe of the rookie quarterback’s skills.

“I’m pretty mad at the football gods for putting him in the NFC East,” Tuck said, via the Giants’ Web site. “To face that guy twice a year is going to be a headache….A quarterback like that, he is different from the Eli’s and those guys, because he presents such a hard, it’s just hard to game plan that guy. He takes away from your enthusiasm for the game a little bit, when you play a play perfectly and he still has 4.3 speed to run by guys and make plays. A guy like him, I don’t think there is anybody in the league just like him. If I was going to run that offense and they asked me to pick between Vick, Cam Newton [and] RGIII, I’m probably taking that guy.”

I’d get rid of the “probably,” personally, but this is still high praise for a rookie.

“He made a play where I had to dive for him and he still ran around me like he was just out there playing in the back yard, ” Tuck also said. “It’s an eerie feeling when you get up off the ground and you look up and that quick he is already 30 yards down the field. It’s frustrating, but I think it’s going to bring the best out of us, especially when we go down there, because that’s going to be a dog fight, too.”

“Everybody is going to have difficulty with the Redskins. Everybody is going to have difficulty with them, especially now…,” Osi Umenyiora said. “No one is going to stop them, completely. It’s just going to be impossible. So, you just have to count on them making some mistakes. Eventually, they will.”

BECAUSE YOU DON’T READ THE PAPER…
Jason Reid on RGIII’s heart-breaking NFC East debut.

Sally Jenkins: “The Redskins’ rivals better enjoy it now, because there is an absolute wolf at their door.”

After the Santana Moss TD, “he heavy lifting for Griffin should have been over, another tale in the growing legend of RGIII now complete.”

Poor Randy Wittman. “You just keep coaching. That’s all you can do,” he said.
