Comcast SportsNet hires Nicole Darin

Comcast SportsNet has hired Nicole Darin as an anchor and reporter, filling the slot left open when Kelli Johnson left the D.C. market for CSN Houston earlier this fall.

Darin, who will start next week, comes to D.C. from CSN Chicago, where she had worked as a freelance anchor and reporter since September. Before that, she was a sports anchor and reporter for the CBS affiliate in Tampa, where she also co-hosted football pre- and post-game shows. The Bronx native has also covered sports in Charlotte, Rock Hill, S.C., Bemidji, Minn. and Colorado Springs, where she went to school.

Darin won’t necessarily assume Johnson’s role on the Nats beat, but will be a reporter and anchor for SportsNet Central and the network’s other news and entertainment shows.
