Thanksgiving win sparks RGIII jersey sales

Here’s one thing that happens if you throw for four touchdowns and 311 yards during a nationally televised dissection of the Cowboys on Thanksgiving: You sell a lot of jerseys.

Reports from multiple retailers indicate that Robert Griffin III’s performance put a bit of a surge into sales of his jerseys over the past week.

* reported that RGIII had the highest-selling jersey of any athlete in any sport on Cyber Monday, finishing in front of Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers, Rob Gronkowski, Victor Cruz and Tom Brady, in that order.

*’s Darren Rovell reported that Griffin had the highest-selling jersey on from Friday through Monday, ahead of Manning, Cruz, Brady and Andrew Luck, in that order.

* And Dick’s Sporting Goods noted in its daily report — based on sales across more than 500 Dick’s locations nationwide — that Griffin rose to the No. 1 spot for NFL jersey sales over the weekend. It was the first time he has occupied the top spot on the Dick’s tracking report all season, although Luck has since reclaimed that position.

Also, Griffin is on the upcoming Sports Illustrated Kids cover. Making socks cool for impressionable young minds everywhere.
