House Majority leader Eric Cantor’s Richmond-area Congressional district is filled with Redskins fans. However, Cantor attended Collegiate High, the same school that produced Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson.
This could be a potentially touchy situation for a political leader who might want to recognize Wilson’s accomplishments without offending the Skins fans he represents. Not sure Cantor pulled that trick off successfully. Near as I can tell, this was his only tweet about the game.
Russell Wilson looked good last night. Appreciated by all Collegiate grads. GO COUGARS!

And not surprisingly, some Skins fans didn’t think this was so great.
No, just no… RT @gopleaderRussell Wilson looked good last night. Appreciated by all Collegiate grads. GO COUGARS!

@gopleader I interned for you and vote for you every two years, but that tweet is flat out unacceptable. Hail to the Redskins

@gopleader Really? Your district’s favorite team just got torched, and you’re congratulating [Wilson] because he went to your high school?!
