Alfred Morris on his ‘Godiva’ nickname

I was walking with Alfred Morris through the military exchange after yesterday’s “Financial Football” event, and as we were passing a display of Godiva chocolate, he started laughing.

“Can someone take my picture with the Godiva?” he asked the group walking with us. “It’s an inside joke.”

I wouldn’t be a blogger worth her weight in salt if I didn’t ask about such inside jokes, so after getting his photo taken, Morris was kind enough to let me in on it.

“I had a friend of a friend refer to me as chocolate,” he explained to me. “My friend was like, ‘No, he’s not just chocolate. He’s Godiva chocolate. He’s that fine chocolate.’ It was hilarious.”

It’ll be even more hilarious when his teammates get a hold of this.

Despite all of the suggestions tossed around, Morris has yet to have a nickname stick. I’m pretty sure “Godiva” won’t be it.
