Teddy gets a baseball card

Putting Teddy’s first-ever Racing Presidents victory on A1 was one thing. Commemorating it with a “2012 Memorable Moments” Topps baseball card, though, is something else entirely.

But because nothing in life can be simple and easy, the image on the Topps card does not appear to be the moment that Teddy actually won his first race. For one thing, you’ll note that the configuration of Teddy’s hands when crossing the tape is different in the two images. More significantly, the Under Armour headband that Teddy sported on that fateful afternoon is noticeably absent from the Topps card.

Anyhow, according to Let Teddy Win, this is the first appearance by a racing president on a Topps card, although Screech has been in mascot collections before.
