Kirk Cousins called ‘Redskins kicker’ by hometown paper

(John McDonnell/The Washington Post)

Poor, poor Kirk Cousins. First, the Redskins’ backup quarterback is called “Kurt Cousins” on a poster advertising an autograph-signing appearance:

And now, his hometown paper calls him a kicker:

For what it’s worth, the Holland Sentinel corrected the mistake online. Also, it’s all good, because Cousins again appreciates the opportunity to stay humble. Which makes me wonder, does Kirk Cousins need periodic reminders that he is but a mere mortal? Is he walking around Holland, Mich., like he owns the place until someone brings him back to earth by accidentally calling him a placekicker? Let us know if the ego gets too big during the season, Kirk, and maybe we’ll run the wrong photo of you in a story or something.

Update: Ryan Kerrigan can empathize.
