Bryce Harper, Ian Desmond endorse the wave

(John McDonnell/The Washington Post)

I’m not sure what prompted this, but a number of Nats players took to the Internet Tuesday afternoon to defend the rights of fans to do the wave.

In case there was some confusion based on my earlier item, the dust-up on Saturday involved the flinging of fermentables — prompted by a wave-based disagreement, to be sure. But no one was ejected for doing the wave.

Anyhow, here comes the support.

Personally, I don’t care if anyone loves the wave, or hates the wave, or does the wave, or blocks the wave, or eats peanuts during the wave, or does jumping jacks during the wave. I’m just blogging, and/or passing the time until death.
