Kevin Durant’s back tattoo has a misspelling (Updated)

As Dan mentioned this morning, Kevin Durant did something really good this week. And when unfortunate things happen to good people, it’s a bummer. Thus is the story of Durant’s back tattoo, a picture of which he posted on Instagram after it was completed. Unfortunately, it appears that the word “mature” is misspelled. Here’s what the passage, taken from James 1:2-4, is supposed to read, via Ball Don’t Lie.

Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way.

If there’s one lesson to be learned from this, it’s to always bring an editor along when you get back tattoos. Or at least a friend who can spell.

UPDATE: Looks like Durant saw the chatter about his ink mishap and got it fixed. He Instagrammed a new pic, saying “I got mature spelled the right way lol.”

LOL indeed.
