This morning in Pixels I mentioned that Mike Shanahan told attendees at Wednesday’s Women of Washington event that Robert Griffin III and Rebecca Liddicoat’s upcoming wedding will be held in Denver, where the Redskins’ head coach has a large house.

“Rebecca went to school in Boulder, and her family is from that area,” Shanahan explained when I caught up to him after his presser on Thursday. “That’s what she chose. I don’t know why.

“Usually the bride makes those decisions,” he continued. “I can’t tell you at all why they chose Denver. You’d have to talk to Rebecca or Robert.”

Shanahan’s comments at the event on Wednesday sparked rumors that the wedding would be held at the palatial home he owns in Denver. Shanahan insisted that’s not the case. (Unless it really is the case, and he’s throwing us off the trail and we’re all idiots for caring so darn much.)

“I said it was just by coincidence, because they were asking about the presents,” he explained. “I said, ‘Well, I have a home there, so it would be easy for me to have the present at my home and just give it to them.’”

As for what he got the happy couple, he’s staying mum.

“Oh, you don’t talk about presents,” he chuckled. “Especially before you give it.”
