Gio Gonzalez and his elephant-print Jordan Brand cleats

In the middle of the third inning on Saturday evening, Fox cameras showed a close up of Gio Gonzalez’s Nike cleats. They seemed kind of interesting looking, but I’m no sneaker nerd, much less a cleat nerd, and I figured I’d let it be.

But then I saw this, from Nice Kicks: “In week 9 of the MLB season, Jordan Brand threw a curve ball of their own as they laced their athletes in new Jordan Dominate Pro PE Cleats that caught the eye of many with their shiny upper. We also spot Derek Jeter in batting practice wearing his Jordan Jeter Legend Elites, and Nats pitcher Gio Gonzalez rocks a pair of Jordan Black Cat Metals dressed in elephant print. ”

Well, I still don’t exactly understand many of those words, but I do understand “elephant print.” Which is, evidently, how you describe this pattern.
