Jayson Werth is well into his third season in Washington, but the boos in Philadelphia haven’t stopped. And while I usually enjoy poking fun at our Northern neighbors for their propensity to hoot, I actually think this is fine. You’ve got to stick with the bit. Time should not really be an issue. If you’re going to whoop Sergei Gonchar in 2006, there’s no particular reason not to whoop him in 2013. LeBron James should be forever heckled in D.C. for the 2006-2008 playoffs. J.J. Redick should continue to hear it from the Washington crowds. And if Philadelphians believe Werth has done them wrong, a mere two years should not be enough to hide those wounds.
Still, it makes for funny blog copy.
I’m amazed by the sheer amplitude of boos that Jayson Werth’s presence still provokes at CBP. Never change, Philly.

Quite the chorus of boos for Jayson Werth, there. It’s been a few years, can’t we let that go now?

Haha everyone still boos Jayson Werth. Typical Philly, but I love it.
