Redskins draft pick Jordan Reed sat down for a quick chat with SB Nation’s Dan Rubenstein during the NFLPA rookie premier, and admitted that the call from the Redskins on draft day was a total surprise.
“I had no idea,” said the tight end. “They didn’t show any interest at all. I got a call from them a couple of days before the draft and they just asked for my phone number and that’s it.”
They called him on the phone and asked for his phone number? Pretty sure a few details got lost in the telling of that anecdote.
Reed, who is recovering from a leg injury, also said he’s been spending some time with Robert Griffin III.
“He’s a great dude and me and him are pretty much in the same situation as far as rehabbing and things like that,” he said. “So we’re with each other a lot during the day and and working on it and throwing the ball with each other. So it’s good.”
Here’s the full interview, including Reed reluctantly naming Beyonce his celebrity crush.
