Kevin Durant’s Nike KD VI shoe release (Photos)

Kevin Durant spent Thursday in his home town of Seat Pleasant, Md., promoting his new shoe with Nike, the KD VI. There are multiple designs in the line, and each was on display for a collection of media members from 12 countries who had gathered for the launch.

The shoe has a low-top, lightweight design that fits tightly to the foot to promote better lateral movements. The colors in the line’s KD VI “Seat Pleasant,” seen on Durant above, are inspired by his childhood basketball team, the Seat Pleasant Lakers.

More about the launch itself in the coming days, but here are photos of some other shoes in the line.

The KD VI “Meteorology”

Durant once said that if he wasn’t playing basketball, he’d be a weatherman, so Nike designer Leo Chang used that as inspiration for the shoe.

During the lockout, Durant scored 66 points in one game on the courts in Harlem in August 2011.
