This super weird video of Robert Griffin III rapping with his new wife, Rebecca Liddicoat, and another unidentified background dancer made the rounds yesterday. Even weirder is the fact that it’s actually been on YouTube since March, largely unnoticed thanks to some incognito uploading under the name CandyShopProductions. RGIII (or someone in his camp) put the video on the quarterback’s official Facebook page yesterday with the message, “Check out the first official video release of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Griffin III,” which caused it to go viral.
As for the song’s hook, “Pop Rocks and Tootsie Pops,” it may not be as random as people think. That exact phrase turned up in February after some provocative uses of the candy were revealed during the Jodi Arias murder trial. I’m looking forward to RGIII’s second official video release, “If The Glove Doesn’t Fit.”
