Jayson Werth not a fan of Philly microphones

Media scrums tend to get a little claustrophobic for players, especially for bigger games. A horde of media members surrounding you shoving their microphones, recorders and iPhones at you can be a bit much.

Some players handle it well. Jayson Werth is one of your more surly guys, so when a reporter got a little too close after last night’s game, he took offense.

“Can you get that thing out of my face?” he said, as a CSN Philly mike got a little to close for comfort. Werth then abruptly ended the question portion of the evening with, “Yeah. I’m good.”

The rumor on Twitter is that the mike holder was an intern.

TWEET OF THE NIGHT

QUOTE OF THE NIGHT

Jordan Zimmermann, on possibly not pitching in the All-Star game:

“I’d rather be healthy for the second half than pitch in that. I’d like to pitch in it, but I’m not going to go up there and pitch an inning and have to battle in the second half.”

HIGHLIGHT OF THE NIGHT

Six Zimmermann strikeouts is kinda fun.
