Bryce Harper explains his hair (Video)

bogmorningpixelsWhen Bryce Harper showed up for the Home Run Derby, his hairstyle caused some buzz, as Harper hairstyles tend to do. Adam Kilgore described it like so:

Bryce approached the derby with his typical bravado. He batted without a hat, revealing a spiky haircut that made it seem as if sea urchins had colonized the top of his head.

During an appearance at yesterday’s all-star parade, Harper explained his look.

“Well, I started the year with a pompadour, and that was just a little combover thing like Harvey. Harvey had that,” Harper said. “And now I’ve switched back to the Mohawk. So I got the hawk all the way through and I thought it would bring me luck for the second half.”

And the beard?

“I had the Jayson Werth beard going for the first half. I had it combed down a little bit, just to get my eyes out there, my smile out there more.”

The more you know.

QUOTE OF THE NIGHT
John Wall, on his needs:

“I need to be in the playoffs. Leaving the season early every year is not fun, it’s no excitement, just going home and watching basketball.”

It’s shocking and eye-opening, and I wouldn’t be here without those women and their courage. Here’s a clip. I know you have 90 seconds…
