Before his first preseason game as a rookie, Robert Griffin III expressed that he was less than excited about getting hit.

“To be honest, if I don’t get hit in the preseason, I would be very okay with that,” he said at the time. “It’s football, you play it and hits are going to hurt. Sometimes guys are going to unload on you. You just have to be ready for that. I am not going to go in the game saying, ‘I hope Marcell Dareus hits me as hard as he possibly can.’ That’s not going to come out of my mouth. I look forward to going out there and playing. If I get hit, I get hit. If I don’t, thank God.”

A year later and a season wiser, RGIII has changed his tune. While speaking to reporters Wednesday, he revealed a braver, more confident, opinion on the matter.

“It’ll feel good. Football’s football. You’re going to get hit when you play the game,” Griffin said. “I don’t really worry about it. You go out and play. This is what we get up every morning and do, and we enjoy it. I’m not afraid of it, and not really anxious about it. You just go out and play.”

What a difference a year makes.
