Last week, Barry Cofield told reporters he wasn’t yet sure how he’d protect his broken hand when he got back on the field.

“We’re not sure,” he said then. “It’s gonna be kinda we’re gonna test out different things as the practice week goes. Luckily we have a long practice week so it gives me extra opportunities. We’re just gonna test some different options and whatever works best — if I’m out there, that’s what I’ll be wearing.”

What he wound up with looked for all the world like a punching bag wrapped around a hand. He still finished with two tackles and a half-sack.
