The National Museum of American History is closed because of the shutdown, so I was worried that there would be no place to display Alex Ovechkin’s torch and relay outfit. But this announcement from the Caps came to much relief.

The Sochi 2014 Torch and official outfit worn by Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin during his portion of the Sochi 2014 Torch relay will be on display at Verizon Center (outside of Section 104) during the Washington Capitals home opener against the Calgary Flames on Thursday, Oct. 3.

If I go, can I hold the torch? Try on Ovi’s pants? Take my picture behind the outfit as though I’m wearing it?

So many questions left unanswered.
