On Tuesday, someone took a picture of Karl Alzner hanging out with his three dogs inside Kettler after Caps practice, and during a call with LaVar and Dukes on 106.7 The Fan, Alzner explained why.
“Me and John Carlson were taking some pictures to raise awareness for abuse against dogs, mainly for teens,” he said. “So me and Carly brought our dogs in yesterday and we were taking some pictures with them and I think they’re gonna be put on a few ads here and there.”
After the shoot, Alzner and his wife Mandy stuck around to get the pups outfitted with some gear.
“So, we had them at the rink and my wife was going to pick up a couple of shirts for them in the pro shop and they were right there hanging out with me,” Alzner continued. “And it’s a good thing we left when we did because one of them had to go to the bathroom really bad. A couple more minutes and it would have been inside.”

QUOTE OF THE NIGHT
Dusty Baker, on wanting to be the Nats manager.
“It’s a good team. It’s a very good team. I’m about winning. My son told me – he was crying the other day – he wanted to play for the Reds. Then he told me, ‘Dad, if you want to win, you want to go to the Nationals.’
“I don’t have a whole bunch of years left, but I’ve got some good ones left. I want to take a team to the top.”

THING THAT MADE ME CRY TODAY
Malala Yousafzai, the 16-year-old Pakistani girl who was shot by the Taliban for advocating for womens rights and education, was on the Daily Show Tuesday night. She is courageous and inspiring, and this is absolutely worth five minutes of your time today.
