Georgetown’s You Can Play video

Athletes at Georgetown University put together a You Can Play video, making them the first Catholic university in the United States to join the movement to support LGBT athletes.

The video concept was created in the spring by senior baseball player Alex Pettee and was shot and produced by student athletes over the summer.

“We wanted our video to be unique in that the message came directly from us, the student-athletes,” said Pettee, who is now a graduate student at Georgetown. “We didn’t have an outside firm come in and make it for us. From the initial script to the final editing, it was all us, and I think the authenticity of the film makes the message all the more powerful.”

The video was officially released by the Georgetown University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
