In case you were wondering whether it’ll be worth your time to tune into Rob Ford’s NFL segment with the Junkies on 106.7 Thursday, here’s a preview of the sort of thing that happens when you put the embattled Toronto mayor in front of a microphone.

Via the National Post:

Toronto Mayor Rob Ford, no stranger to controversy north of the border, stepped into one of the more contentious issues in the United States Wednesday, declaring that the NFL’s Washington Redskins should not change their name.

“To me, that’s ridiculous,” he told reporters on Wednesday. “What are we going to call the Cleveland Indians? The Cleveland Aboriginals? Where do we start? The Skins are the Skins and I stick with the Washington Redskins.”

Ford, you may recall, has a history with the Redskins, having attended a Redskins youth football camp as a teenager. According to the National Post, he “can’t wait” for his radio appearance with the Junkies Thursday. That makes at least two of us.
