Maria Kirilenko learning to skate with help from Adam Oates’s wife

After the Caps’ morning practice on Friday, Alex Ovechkin’s fiancee, Maria Kirilenko, stopped by the rink for some practice of her own. The tennis pro has been learning to skate, and Donna Oates, wife of Coach Adam Oates, offered her services as a friendly instructor.

Kirilenko spent her time taking tentative laps around the rink on Oates’s arm while Ovechkin stood nearby shouting encouragement.

Not needing lessons was Dmitry Orlov’s girfriend, Varya, who is clearly a natural on skates.
