Jerry Blevins’s homemade Nats uniform

How about a brief break from the Redskins circus, huh?

On Wednesday, the Nats acquired left-handed pitcher Jerry Blevins from Oakland. The reliever will see some familiar faces in Washington. He was teammates with Gio Gonzalez and played college ball with Craig Stammen.

“When I found out where I was going, it was really exciting,” Blevins said, via Adam Kilgore. “I texted with Craig. I’m really excited to play baseball together again. It’s been a while.”

To show team pride, Belvins wanted to change his Twitter avatar, but the newest addition to the bullpen didn’t have a Nats uniform handy. So, he made one of his own.
