Mascots vs. kids hockey game

via Slapshot’s Facebook page

We’ve already enjoyed footage of Dwight Howard dunking on a little kid. How about mascots beating kids in ice hockey?

In honor of Kids Day on Sunday, the Caps hosted some youth hockey players on the ice during intermission, a tradition commonly called Mites on Ice. The Prince William Panthers took on area mascots, along with some visiting league furries. According to Caps mascot Slapshot, the mascots won 3-1.

Highlights include:

– Air Slapshot making an incredibly inept goaltender.

– The Oriole Bird being announced as “the bird from the Baltimore Orioles.”

– At the 5:16 mark, Stinger from the Blue Jackets congratulating a kid by pressing him into the boards.
