Martin Erat’s first goal

Martin Erat scored an empty-net goal Saturday night.

It was his first goal of the season.

That led to hilarity. Like John Walton screaming at the top of his lungs.

“HE SCORRREEEEESSSSS,” Walton said, calmly. “OHHHHHH MYYYYYYY……ERAT GETS NUMBER ONE!!!!!!!………OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!!…..THAT WAS ONE OF THE MOST AMAZING THINGS EVER!!!!!!!”

It’s not a description often given to empty netters.

And like Alex Ovechkin rushing to pick up the puck for historical safe-keeping. While grinning his face off. Another event that does not typically accompany empty netters.

And like Walton eventually cracking up in the middle of his screaming.
