RGIII donates $100,000 in equipment to Copperas Cove

One of the benefits of having a super-famous athlete with many endorsement deals as an alum is the influx in fun donations. Copperas Cove Independent School District in Texas is learning that pretty quickly.

Robert Griffin III is behind a rather large donation to the school district. From the Kileen Daily Herald:

The Washington Redskins quarterback and high-profile alumni of Cove donated more than $100,000 worth of athletic gear to the Copperas Cove Independent School District.

Griffin, who won the Heisman Trophy while playing at Baylor, partnered with Adidas to donate uniforms for the school’s football team, as well as the boys basketball and track teams.

According to the Herald, the school district needs to approve the donation, both because of the amount and its designation to specific programs. Growing up, RGIII played in all three sports he’s donating equipment to. Sorry, girls’ teams. You’ll have to get your own hero.

In October, RGIII also donated full uniforms to the high school’s football programs.
