John Wall dunks, dances, wins

(Via @NBA)

“That dunk is one of the best I’ve seen in a long time,” Dominique Wilkins said after John Wall did this. “Outstanding.”

“John Wall just brought the slam dunk contest back,” Magic Johnson said. “That was nice!” “Magic is right,” Dr. J agreed. “The slam dunk contest has returned.”

Yes, it was the Wizards guard who brought the house down Saturday night, by leaping over G Man’s head, grabbing the ball, bringing it down and then back up, dunking it, and then dancing. A lot. To the point that Colin Cowherd likely whimpered in sadness.

Wall, naturally, won the best dunker of the night award. And Washington approved.

As TNT’s Kevin Harlan closed the coverage, he left the audience with this: “Shaping up as a memorable weekend for the Washington Wizards.” And those are few and far between, so enjoy this one. Do that dance, maybe.
