Former Redskins tight end Clint Didier, a member of the tea party, has announced his candidacy for the U.S. House seat being vacated by Doc Hastings (R-Wash.). Didier’s past attempts at political positions include a failed Senate campaign in 2010 and a losing race for Washington state land commissioner in 2012.

“You have seen my Senate run, you have seen my lands commissioner run and my message has not changed,” Didier said in a news conference.  “It’s the same.  We have to get government under control.”.

If you’re interested in his leanings, he’s been endorsed in the past by Sarah Palin and Ron Paul. And then there’s this, from the Seattle Post-Intelligencer via The Hill:

Didier has previously expressed skepticism over climate change, and has also accused some of President Obama’s appointees of having “communist ties,” the Seattle newspaper notes.

Quick everyone! To the comments!

From Tuesday night: He looks the same watching the Wizards lose as he does watching the Caps lose.

Pretty sure he’s said this no less than 87 times in the last six months. But hey, awesome breaking news, ESPN.

Bryce Harper wears a “PED FREE” shirt but said, according to Adam Kilgore, that it wasn’t meant to send a message. You know, except that his T-shirt was made without the benefit of PEDs.
