Beach ball gets the best of Bryce Harper

Bryce Harper blasted two home runs on opening day last year. His encore opening day performance in New York yesterday didn’t go quite as well, with Harper going 1-for-4 with a walk, taking a shin to the head and failing miserably to toss a beach ball back into the stands in the bottom of the third.

“Step on it, pop it, stick it in your back pocket,” F.P. Santangelo offered by way of advice, which is kind of catchy. There’s no way Harper makes this same mistake again.
